Have you ever thought of a great idea for a local website, but lack the know-how to set one up?
INCK Projects might be just the solution you need.
INCK offers free websites to individuals who would like to manage a website on a topic that is focused on Chatham-Kent, or is of interest to local residents.
Non-profit community organizations are also encouraged to build a website in our Network.
How Do I Get Started?
Create A Group
To get started on your website, please first “Create A Group“. During the process of creating your Group you will be asked if you would like to “Enable Group Site” (See image at right). Check the box marked “Enable Group Site”, and upon completion of creating your group, your site will be automatically created.
Set Member Options
When creating your Group, you will also be asked to set the capabilities other INCK members have with your site.
You can set permissions for
- Administrators (if you are the only site admin, you can leave this as is).
- Moderators: You may allow other INCK members to help you manage your site.
- Members: This is what you want to allow regular INCK members to be able to do on your site. **Warning: It is not suggested that you allow general members any role above “Contributor”. Anyone with the setting of “Author” or higher can publish, or remove content on your website without your knowledge. The “Contributor” setting allows members to submit content – but not publish… it will be held as a draft awaiting your approval before being published.
*Please note: All sites are subject to review, and must abide by our Editorial Policy at all times. Any sites bearing content not deemed appropriate to the INCK Network will be suspended, and site authors will be contacted.
